Join the REALTORS® Are Good Neighbors Campaign

Many members of the Northeast Florida Association of REALTORS® spend much of their time, talent, and treasure giving back to their communities. The Northeast Florida Association of REALTORS® would like to have its members quantify these good works for recognition by the National Association of REALTORS®.

Each year, NAR acknowledges some of its most exceptional volunteers with the Good Neighbor Awards. But with 72% of its REALTORS® nationwide serving as volunteers, it is important to recognize that REALTORS® are good neighbors to their community year-around, and that this volunteer work has a tremendous impact.

This year, NAR has launched its REALTORS® ARE GOOD NEIGHBORS campaign, and the national association would like NEFAR members to follow and share uplifting content at “REALTORS® Are Good Neighbors” on Facebook and Instagram to generate member engagement and pride.

NAR would also like NEFAR members to share their contributions at nar.realtor.rgn. Until November 2021, NAR is tracking volunteer hours with the hope that its vast nationwide membership can meet a goal of 5 million hours served. Members who log their volunteer hours into the NAR website are eligible for the NAR Good Neighbor Sweepstakes and may be chosen in a random drawing to win $1,000 for their cause.

NEFAR would also like to know about your good works and the number of hours that you put toward community service. NEFAR plans to recognize those hours and kinds of service on a soon-to-be redesigned website for the Northeast Florida Association of REALTORS® Charitable Foundation and through positive posts on NEFAR’s Facebook and Twitter pages.

As an association, NEFAR is also eligible to win a $1,000 grant in recognition of its volunteer projects, so it is important for members to support the NEFAR Waterways Clean-up, scheduled for Saturday, July 24 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; the NEFAR Hunger Fight Pack-a-thon, scheduled for Thursday, August 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the University of North Florida; and the HabiJAX Volunteer Day, scheduled for Friday, September 10 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and noon to 3 p.m. The locations of the Waterways event and the HabiJAX construction sites still need to be determined, so stay tuned to the weekly NEFAR Member Update for more information.
